In 2017, Jesse was inspired by the famous YouTube hit Lucky Chops, a brassband performing in the NYC subway, and then decided to ask some members of his concert band to start a similar band.
He transcribed several pieces of Lucky Chops for this band, which they played as part of a concert of Harmoniecorps Tuindorp from Amsterdam. After this concert they decided to continue the band and found different occasions for performing. The repertoire has since been extended, with numerous other Lucky Chops songs, covers of pop songs like Pharell’s “Happy”, Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” or Camila Cabello’s “Havana”, and some self-written pieces. You will find strong influences of bands like Lucky Chops, No BS! Brass Band, Gallowstreet and Dr. Brass in On A Tuesday’s music.
On a Tuesday started in 2017 as part of concert band Harmoniecorps Tuindorp, but has since grown into its own act, playing on many occasions. The band performed played at weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, and on several stages. You can find us (almost) yearly in Haarlem playing in the ‘Gluren bij de Buren’-festival, or as part of Harmoniecorps Tuindorp concerts.
